How to Find Your Family ID in PMJAY (Ayushman Card 2025)
A step-by-step guide to finding your unique PMJAY ID for eligibility checks and card generation.
What is a PMJAY Family ID and Why is it Important?
The Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) is organized by family units. Every eligible family in the government's database is assigned a unique number. This is known as the **PMJAY Family ID** or **Household ID (HH ID)**. This ID is the master key to your family's Ayushman benefits. It links all the members of your family together under a single ₹5 lakh health cover.
Knowing your Family ID is extremely useful. It is the fastest and most accurate way to check your name in the Ayushman list, download your card, and for the hospital staff to quickly retrieve your details. But what if you don't know your Family ID? This guide will show you three simple methods to find it.
Method 1: Find the Family ID on Your Ayushman Card
This is the most straightforward method. If any member of your family has already generated their Ayushman Card, the Family ID is printed directly on it.
Locate the Card: Find the physical or digital copy of the Ayushman Card.
Find the PMJAY ID: Look for a long number, usually labelled as "PMJAY ID". This is your unique Family ID. It will be the same on the cards of all your family members.
Note it Down: Keep this number safe for future reference.
Method 2: Find Your Family ID on the Official Beneficiary Portal
If you don't have a card yet, you can find your Family ID by searching for your name on the official government portal.
Step 1: Visit the Portal and Login
Go to the official PMJAY beneficiary portal: beneficiary.nha.gov.in. Log in using your mobile number and the OTP you receive.
Step 2: Search for Your Details
After logging in, select your State, Scheme (PMJAY), and District. For the 'Search By' option, choose 'Aadhaar Number' or 'Name'. Using your Aadhaar number is the most accurate way. Enter the required details and click 'Search'.
Step 3: Identify Your Family and Find the ID
The portal will display one or more families that match your search. Find your family's entry. You will see a column or field labelled **"Family ID"** or **"Source"** which contains your unique PMJAY HH ID. You can copy this number directly from the screen.
Method 3: Find Your Family ID Offline at a CSC or Hospital
If you cannot access the online portal, you can easily get your Family ID by visiting an Ayushman Mitra.
Step 1: Visit an Ayushman Helpdesk
Go to any empanelled government hospital or a nearby Common Service Centre (CSC).
Step 2: Provide Your Details to the Ayushman Mitra
Inform the operator (Ayushman Mitra) that you need to find your PMJAY Family ID. Provide them with your Aadhaar Card and/or your Ration Card.
Step 3: Get Your ID Instantly
The operator will use their official login to search for your details in the national database. They will be able to find and provide you with your Family ID in a few minutes. They can also use this ID to help you complete your e-KYC and generate your Ayushman Card on the spot.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q. I used my ration card to check my name, what is my Family ID?
In states where the scheme is linked to ration cards, your Ration Card number itself acts as a 'Family ID' for the initial search. Once your details appear, the system will also show you the official PMJAY Family ID (HH ID) linked to your ration card.
Q. My Family ID is showing, but some members are missing. What should I do?
If some members are missing, you will need to add them to your family unit. You can do this using the 'Add Member' function on the beneficiary portal, as explained in our guide on how to add a family member to your Ayushman Card.
